Looking for a cool way to get more traffic to your website?
Not just any traffic – but relevant traffic?
Well, last week I came across an idea that I loved.
It came via a marketer I’d never heard of, called Grant Baldwin.
And what he suggested was so obvious…. So simple….
It was genius.
Here’s the hack.
One of the best ways to get great traffic to your website is to put a remarketing pixel on it. That’s a bit of code, which keeps track of the people who visit your website, and then shows your adverts to them on other websites, once they leave.
It can raise conversions enormously, because remarketing ads target visitors who already know you and who have already shown an interest in what you have to offer. Because you know where they’ve been on your website, you can also show them particularly relevant ads.
When you consider that most website visitors leave after a minute or two, that’s a great opportunity to continue marketing to them for longer.
(If you want to find out more about remarketing – which we call ‘the Boomerang Method’ – and how to make it work, check out our guide right here.)
Grant Baldwin has a neat twist on this.
He suggests that as well as putting the remarketing tag on your own website, you find another business which attracts a similar clientele to yours. Not a competitor – obviously! – but the kind of business you might form a strategic alliance with, because there’s a connection between what you do. Say, a printer and a graphic designer…
You can either pay them to put your remarketing tag on their website, or swap tags, so you put your remarketing tag on their website, and they put theirs on yours.
That way, you both get to show your best offers to a whole new, relevant audience!
Now of course, you’re going to want to do this carefully. If you’re attracting 100,000 visitors a month, you’re not going to swap pixels with another website that attracts 500. You will also want an official agreement between you.
But joint ventures are one of the best ways out there to get access to potential clients, to grow your email list and expand your business…. And so is remarketing….
Put them both together, and magic can happen.
