I use Google Apps for my managing my email accounts. Until recently, I had a Google account separate from my Google Apps Account that I used for products like Reader and Analytics. This changed when Google forced users to consolidate their regular accounts with their Google Apps accounts. I had several so called "conflicting" Accounts due to
my use of the same email address for both Accounts.
On forced transition day, however, I lost the data associated with my
Reader and Analytics accounts. Both are now empty. Google’s help forums
have been as good as useless. Moreover, the support documentation asserts that I
should have:
- been presented with a conflict resolution page, allowing me to change the account name on the non-Apps Account
- been able to successfully consolidate data into the Apps Account.
Neither has been the case. I am unable to login to my old Account and
cannot rescue my analytics. I had collected web stats from some websites going back years. So what are my options? Presumably Google still holds the data that I need to get hold of, but I have no way of getting hold of Google, so now I am stuck.
This has seriously undermined my faith in Google. Do you really want to be so reliant on an organisation who lets you down in such a massive way and gives you no option of how deal with this?
